"Ring of Roses"

Hello Blog friends, followers and passers by. Welcome to my little corner of Blogland, I love having you stop by to see what I have been up to.  Thank you for all your lovely comments on my "Oldie for Friday" for the card and the ornament.
We started the build on the Ranch 21 years ago, just about this time.  We did not move in till the following February.  When we moved I needed to do something to meet people.  I did keep up with my friends in the city.  I knew I also needed to meet and make friends out in the country.  An add in the local paper for a Ceramics Class caught my attention.   I had never heard or done anything like that before.  I took the Bull by the Horns and off I went.  Wow! it was one BIG learning curve but I really enjoyed it.  I also met Elaine at the class .... we have been friends ever since.  I made lots of different things (if they were good enough) I gave them as gifts.  A few ended up in boxes for Jumble Sales, some hit the bin and a few still languish around the house, the lady being one of them.
I have been playing with the Susan`s Garden Create a Rose Die.  It is very different from the Roses I use on my cards but it has been fun.
Here is something I have made ...... my Summer wreath for the front door.  Our front door is under a Porch, as long as we don`t get howling gales with lashing rain it should be fine.

A collection of Roses all made using Susan`s Garden Die and 160gsm paper/card
The Polystyrene wreath was one of 2 in a pack I picked up at a bargain price
Ribbon from my stash

Now on the Front Door .....  Ooopps!! just noticed it`s a bit squint.
That`s it for today folks
Thank you again for your visit I really appreciate it
Till next time

"Oldie for Friday"

Hello Blog friends, hope you are all "Tickety Boo" if not here a  few (((((hugs))))) in hope that they might help.
All fine here at the Ranch, boys finish school today.  Although we do not Child Mind I am sure they will be here a fair bit over the holidays.  I know they have plans to go camping with friends and their boys at some point.  I think it will be a case of watching the forecast then taking off.  When they go Camping it is like moving house........!!!!  The car is packed and I mean packed.  All the bikes are on the back and they are off.  It is the one time we pass on the invite to join them.  John does not do camping................actually joking apart he needs a proper bed because of his back problems.
Here is my offering for "Oldie on Friday"

This is a really easy card to make
Base card 6 x 6
Contrasting card
Patterned paper
Die cut a shape from the paper move it slightly then stick in in place
I popped another contrasting piece directly behind the cut out
Piece of ribbon, a greeting, some glitter ..... and your done

The ornament I made years ago at a Ceramics Class I went to for a while so another "oldie"

That`s it for today folks
Thank you so much for visiting I really appreciate it and all your wonderful comments
Till next time
Be good and have a great weekend

"Tuesdays Class Makes"

Hello Blog friends, followers and poppers by.  Welcome to my little corner of Blogland, great to have you visit.  My word what a right pain in the "proverbial" Mr Blogger has been since the weekend.  If I missed commenting I do apologise, I did try going through my Reading List to get to you all.
Seems to be back to normal now thank goodness.
My offering for today are the makes from our last Crafty Class till after the School holidays.  Children finish on Friday here in our area of Angus and Perthshire.  Lots of the ladies who come to the class do Child Minding during the holidays
I do not normally do "kits" but thought the one for the little shoes was so sweet.  The group looked in horror when I showed them what they would be doing.  However once they got started even the "rebels" knuckled down and got on with them.  Everyone was delighted with the results.......success!!!  The second project was a very easy Easel Card.

Now the Easel Card

There were little bits and pieces to decorate the box for the shoes in the kit.
I did not put them on, I find the ladies tend to copy what I have done rather than do their own thing.
I was nice to see what they came up with.

Shoes/box a Hunkydory Kit
Easel Card ... 6x6 base card plus pink card stock
Paper printed from MCS Floriography CD
Button and ribbon from my stash

That`s it for today
Thank you for taking time to visit I really appreciate it
Till next time

"Little Boxes"

Hello Blog friends, followers and passers by.  Thank you for popping in I love to have you here.
Thank you for all your lovely comments on my pieces of Cross Stitch.  They are once again rolled up and safely in the cupboard.
Boys here at the Ranch for a while this afternoon.  We got a phone call from Thomas this morning telling us he had made pancakes......a great favourite in their house.  He asked if we would like some, they could bring them along then they could play here.  Fine by us, however when they arrived .... where were the Pancakes???  Well Granny it is like this, I am sure you know what is coming .... Yes!!! they had eaten them.
Thomas and Grandpa went off on their bikes.  Robert did not want to go, he stayed with me and created a picture.  He did not want to make anything he just wanted to draw and colour in.  While he was creating his "masterpiece" I got out a Die I had not used in a long time and had a play.
Here is what I made:-

And another

Boxes approx 4 x 4inches
Made using PMD A3 card, some paper from a magazine
Sizzix Rose Die from Susan`s Garden Range
I bought this Die set a while back but never really used it.
It is a big Rose, I feel a bit too big for on a card.   Plus it takes a lot longer to make up that the ones I usually make.  A pretty Rose when it is made up I have to say.

Have you had a look at Hazel`s Blog Post??
She has a great Post up ...... very ingenious "up-cycling"

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling in I really appreciate it
Till next time
