"Oldie on Friday"

Hello Blog friends, followers and casual passers by.  Thank you for stopping here to see what I get up to, I love that you do that. I really love to read all your lovely comments, makes Blogging all worth while.  If you have not visited before please leave a comment so that I can then link back to pay you a visit.
Erika across at started the "Oldie on Friday" a few weeks ago, it does not have to be cards.  Anything that you have done in the past be a few months or years ago.  Please pop it on and let us see, just for a bit of fun.
Erika is in hospital at the moment after an operation. I am sending her a load of (((((hugs))))) in hope that they help.  I think she is more worried about how her hubby and boys will keep the house than she is about herself.
When I lived the summers out in Dalyan, Turkey I had to have something to do in my spare time.  Supplies of card, papers, toppers etc:- were in very short supply and having them sent over cost a fortune.  Thinking cap on and I decided on Cross Stitch, something I had never done before.   Aida was hard to get so I took some designs and magazines out with me.   DMC threads were approx 80p each, I did notice when Hazel and I were there a couple of weeks ago they were up to just over £1 ....  how much are there here now???
I am not into pictures or ornaments (too much to dust) very minimalist here at the Ranch.
All my Cross Stitch pieces are safely rolled up and in a cupboard.  I brought some out to photograph them.
Here is my offering for this Friday:-

And another

Not that good but Hey! Ho! it passed hours sitting in the shade of our wonderful Grape strewn Terrace.
I did a lot of small designs, I had some of them framed and gave as little gifts to friends and neighbours out there.
Both of these should be back stitched to finish them off.
The fact I will never use them I think I will pass on that  .......  its a thing I hated doing anyway

Ok that`s my offering, how about yours!!!
Thank you for calling by I really appreciate it
Till next

"Gift Bags"

Hello Blog friends, what a fantastic afternoon we had.  Morning was a bit undecided but boy! oh! boy! once it made the decision it was "HOT" and I loved it.  When Audrey popped in to pick up the boys she was telling us a  few miles up the road in Arbroath they had horrific thunder storms and weird is that???
Boys were here for tea this evening, man can those two eat.  Great to see it, they refuse nothing but "blows" those two.
Thomas who will be 10 in September is very tall at already 5`1" was telling us that the new ruling is for 7 portions of fruit and veg per day rather than 5.  Thomas was saying he would find that difficult as he was not that keen on many children are??  Me in my wisdom said "oh! Thomas you will have to eat your vegetables they help you grow" ......  I wish you could have seen the look I got before he said  "Granny have you seen the height I am"????? this of course caused a great deal of laughter.
Anyway back to to today`s offering.  Hazel has the XCut Die for this wonderful Gift Bag.  She cut me a few, here is what I did with 2 of them the rest have been used and of course ....  I forgot to photograph them.

These bags are a great size, they hold a nice selection of Mini Products and of course a good selection of Homemade Goodies
Each bag uses 2 sheets of A4 card.  The card has to be thick, at least (350gsm) otherwise the Die cuts right through where it should just crease for folding
SB Blossom Five for the Roses
SW Classic Rose Die for some of the leaves
Cheery Lynn Die For the large Scroll
MB Die for the frame, I added a few little flowers.
Organza ribbon for the bows to finish

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling by I really appreciate it
Till next time

"Welcome Little One"

Hello Blog friends, and followers. Thank you for visiting me and all your lovely comments.  I have been a bit lax with my commenting since I got back from holiday.  Sorry about that I will try to catch up soon.  Life here has been rather chaotic (in a good way) ... just not enough hours in the day and people wanting things done.  I think I am back on track  ... I did say "think" you never know.
I have not been in the mood for crafting, I really must give myself a good shake.  I did get out my pens to have a go at colouring.  However when I see all the wonderful things some of you do I gave it up as a bad job.  Think I will just stick with the LOTV Art Pads.
I had a request for a Baby Card, I used my favourite image I downloaded, long before I started Blogging.  I don`t know from where but I love it.

Very simple:-
The sweet image, it was for a boy so used blue card stock
Some scraps of Mirri Card
Computer generated greeting
That`s it

Thank you so much for your visit I really appreciate it.
Till next time

P.S. A few of you have asked if Hazel and I still make our Pendants.  Unfortunately our source for a really nice selection of beads closed.  We are left with just a few that we really don`t like ourselves, we are not happy using them for selling.

"Weekend Away"

Hello Blog friends, followers and anyone who just happens to pop in.  Thank you for your visit I love that you take time to call in to see what I have been up to.  Please leave a comment that way I can link back to you to see what you do.
Busy, busy, weekend was had by our little family.  John Jnr, Audrey, Thomas, Robert, John and  myself took off on Saturday for the 2 hour drive to Elgin (North East Scotland).  We had a beautiful run up, through spectacular countryside, all the rain has done something!!!!!!  After our overnight stay in Elgin we were up bright and early, breakfast then on the road again.  Not far this time, along to Dufftown where there was a Special 1940s Weekend on the Keith to Dufftown Heritage Railway.   A fantastic day was had by all, no sunshine but at least the rain stayed off.  Lots of planning done by the volunteers, these people had worked so hard.
Here are a few photos of the event:-

Unfortunately they don`t have a "steam" engine

Tea Time

More Tea time

My boys having a rest in Keith Town (don`t know where Audrey was)
Audrey certainly was not looking in any shops ....... none were open, it was Sunday.  We really struggled to get something to eat.  Ended up going into Tesco in Keith (no cafe in that one) buying things to eat and drink.  Then they wonder why visitor numbers are down in general!!!!  There were lots of people milling about looking for the same sort of thing.  The Royal Hotel was too busy with a "booking" to serve Lunches..............I could hardly believe my ears.  They had a big sign outside saying "food served all day" but NOT that day that`s for sure.  This was a big weekend, if I had a small "eatery" business I would certainly have been open.  The little Railway only had limited facilities.  Again I am sure there must have been Burger/sandwich vans that could have been drafted in for the day.  That was the only down side of the whole weekend.  We did have loads of supplies, they were in the cars back at the other end of the line in Dufftown........planning eh!!!
This morning I am off to do a Craft Class along at the Tearoom.  I have been busy doing bits for that since we got back on Sunday evening ...... Oh! think I need a holiday.......!!!!!

That`s it for today folks
Thank you for popping by I really appreciate it
Till next time
