"Oldie for Friday"

Hello Blog friends, hope you are all well, if not here are a few ((((hugs)))) in hope that they help.
If you have followed me for 2 years plus, you will know that my sister and best friend Hazel (hazelsbasketsof joy) has been through a lot starting in 2012.  Hysterectomy, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and of course doubts.  While she was recovering from the Hysterectomy I would do the round trip of 100 miles every other day to keep her company.  That was all well and good but we needed something to do.  We decided to make something that we could sell to raise money for the Cancer Unit at the Hospital.  What would we make???? we both had bits and pieces of "all sorts of things"  It had to be something Hazel could do without straining herself.   Here is what we hit on ......

These are mostly the pendants I made.
Hazel went for a "tear drop design" ... rather than shed the tears she made "Tear Drop" shaped pendants instead.  If you zoom in you will see a few of Hazels in there.
We made and sold hundreds of these raising money for The Chemo Unit, The Maggies Centre, plus other affiliated units at the hospital.  We still raise a little money which we use to buy good quality Tea Bags, Coffee and nice biscuits for the trolley at the Chemo Unit. That way patients attending and the people accompanying them get a nice cuppa and a treat.
We are very honoured that the lovely Sue Wilson mentioned us on Create and Craft promoting us while wearing our Pendants.  Thank you Sue with your help our sales soared, we will always be grateful for that.

That`s it for today
Thank you so much for dropping by I really appreciate it.  Hope to see you again soon
Till next time

P.S. Quite a few of  the followers of both Hazel and my Blogs have supported us and bought our pendants.  Thank you one and all, without your support we would not have raised the funds we have.

"Wedding Wishes"

Hello Blog friends, followers and anyone who just happens by.  You are all most welcome, I love having you here.
Hazel, Elaine and I arrived back last night from our holiday to Dalyan, Turkey.  Great time had by all, Hazel and I booked for September 2015.  Elaine said she would wait to see what happens in her life next year.  Her eldest daughter gets married in November.  She feels that they will want to start a family sooner rather than later, so you never know, Elaine might be needed at home next September.
Our weather was nothing like we usually get when we visit Turkey.  However the weather the world over is changing, what can we do???  I have no pictures to show you, I can not get my iPad to download on to my computer.  Hazel Blogs from her iPad but that is beyond me.
Bed stripped, washed, dried and ready for ironing   ......   can I be bothered to do it Mm!!!! will see.
My card today is part of the order my neighbour gave me before I went on holiday.  The wedding was Saturday past so I feel I can show it.

Base card 6 x 6
Background was a piece of card I found in a box.  I embossed it using SW Tumbling Hearts Folder
MB Die cut 3 times, cut into pieces to fit behind SB Scallop & Classic Circle Die cuts
SB Blossom Five for the Roses
SW Leaf Die from her Classic Rose set
Computer generated greeting on the banner
Pearls from my stash

That`s it for today, think I will give the ironing a miss and have 40 winks instead
Thank you so much for calling by I really appreciate it
Till next time
