"All Done & Dusted"

Hello Blog friends, can you believe it......the weekend is upon us once again!!!
Where did the past week go???
Thank you for taking time to call by today.
I decided I just HAD to get Hazel`s order "Done & Dusted.    Now that it is out of the way I can get down to some serious "Playing"........................... well, that`s what I thought till Elaine phoned to say my cabinet at the Tearoom was needing filled up again.  I was there yesterday and it looked OK.  However she had sold a few cards today so needs some more to fill up spaces.
It is great that I can get them sold, so better just knuckle down and get working.
Thank you for all your kind comments on John`s and his knees.  Still in lots of pain so looks like another night in the spare room for him.  He has some "Magic" cream that is made up by an assistant to a Pain Consultant.  That helps a lot and it works so much better than anything the doctor has prescribed.  Rather expensive but what`s money is it helps give pain relief.  Unfortunately due to some crazy European ruling some of the ingredients are being banned for import to this country.  Hazel managed to get him a few jars which we thought would last ages.  If he keeps slathering it on the way he is, it will not last as long as we thought.......happy days!!!!

OK! here are Hazel`s six boxes of six cards all ready for delivery.
I think they look quite pretty even though I say it myself.   I would love to get something like that as a little gift.  Once the cards are finished you still have a nice box that can be used.

That`s it for today
Thank you so much for your visit and all your lovely comments I really appreciate each and every one.
Till next time

"Not just 1.......but 36 cards"

Hello blog friends, thank you for popping into my little corner of Blogland.
Hope you are all well, if not I send you some Get well Wishes
Yesterday Hazel asked if I would make her 6 sets of the Card Boxes we do.  The box contains six 4 x 4 cards, we both use these a lot as gifts.  People seem to like them as they always have a card at hand whenever needed.  Hazel wants them for Teachers Gifts, our schools break up next Wednesday for the summer.  I make a mix, some with sentiments others without.  Always leave the inserts empty so anything can be written inside.  Over the past 24hrs I have made 36 cards.  I ran out of 4 x 4 envelopes, I had some "slimline" cards and envelopes so made use of them.

Here is the selection, I have made.  The Slimline ones are "budged" up to get them all in the picture.
Now have to make Boxes for them all to go in, will do that tomorrow all being well
I used some Sheets of toppers I had printed off the Fabulous Fashion CD.  They were just sitting there, now most of them are used up.  Apart from the pre-scored bought cards and envelopes lots of what I used came from my favourite "Bit Box".  When I get a new Die I love to cut out loads of them, again a lot of these were used on the cards.  I also got some beautiful Swirl Die Cuts from Rita  (RMG Creations)  I have used a few of them as well.   Rita`s Die was a Marianne's Die, I loved it, it is ordered just waiting for it coming.
Elaine comes this evening, she never arrives till approx 8.15/8.30pm.  I am off to put my feet up for an hour or so.  Did not get any sleep last night, John was in terrible pain with his knees during the night,.  Goodness knows what he was doing yesterday, John says nothing, his left knee is really swollen.  He has had problems with his knees since his accident quite a few years ago.  He is taking it very easy today, hopefully they will be a bit better tonight if not he will be in the spare room..............

I plan to get some of my bags finished tomorrow as well.  Hope anyone who was looking for the Tutorial for the Gift Bag  found it back on 4th November 2012 and understood it.
That`s it for today
Thank you for visiting I really appreciate it
Till next time

"More Gift Bags"

Hello Blog friends, sorry I went missing yesterday.
Life and orders have got in the way of "playing" with paper.
Thank you for popping in I really love that you take time to do that and for all your lovely comments.
We had the boys Monday evening for tea, then again Tuesday for tea and a sleepover.  Had to get them up and out to school this morning.  They were absolutely no bother it is just not part of my normal routine.  I know I suffer a bit of OCD, it put me a bit off my stride today.  Back to normal now, if there is any normal in this house.
A few of you mentioned a "Tutorial" for the Gift Bag.  Now!! being a complete "Numpty" as far as computers are concerned there is no way I have the capability of putting the Tutorial on the side bar or header of my Blog.  If you want it you will have to scroll back to  find it on the 4th November 2012.  It is there in pictures, I feel it is quite straight forward.   A few of my followers made them back in November.  They are great bags for holding "Mini" products for a gift.

Here are a few that are work in progress.  Once they are finished I will show you them again.
Hazel asked me to do some boxes of small cards for Teachers Gifts, I am doing them as well at the moment.  Just delivered a Silver Wedding Anniversary Card which the customer was delighted with..............Guess what....................yep!! I forgot to photograph it.  I do that all the time when I do orders.  Never mind hopefully I will have something to show you over the next few days.

That`s it for today
Thank you for calling by, I really appreciate that you take time to do that.
Till next time

"Gift Bag"

Hello Blog friends, hope your weather turned out as good as ours did today.
Thank you for stopping by, I love that you take the time to that.
The morning started here with what looked like "winter" sunshine.  However as the day progressed it got better and better.  We had a beautiful evening although it did turn rather cool as the sun went down.......Oh! we can cope with that.  Just hope the sun remembers to rise again tomorrow.
Got lots done this morning till the door of the washing machine decided to jam shut with a load of washing still in and another waiting to be done.  Got the machine open eventually but could not get it to start another cycle.  Ended up "hand washing" the last load, thank goodness it was just a few things.  Will see what happens tomorrow, it might just go back to normal, it has been known to that in the past.  Looks like a new machine will be needed soon.
Today`s offering is a "Gift Bag" these have sold really well along at the Tearoom.  Elaine phoned to ask if I had any made if not could I do a few as she sold the last one the other day   I did have a few I made some time ago, they are now ready and waiting to go along to the Tearoom tomorrow.  Don`t  know if I have shown this one, sure as eggs is eggs I will have, sorry if you have already seen it.    It is easy to make the basic bag, it is the decoration that takes the time.

To make a Bag you need the Grand Dies, this is SB Labels One
I have used Grand Circles and Decorative Grand Circles but have to cut the bottom of the bag to get it to sit, I prefer Labels One
Two matching sheets of good quality card stock, this is from a Tilda Paper Stack.   I try to use double sided, you see the inside when it is made up.  I usually use 12 x 12 but you can make the bag using A4.  The strips of card left over when using 12 x 12 I use to make the Roses
There is just one rose on this bag using the matching card the others are pink card stock.
Roses made using SB Blossom Five Die
Leaves cut using SB Foliage Die
Organza bow, ribbon from my Ribbon Box

That`s it for today, off to have a look for some more card stock to make a few more Gift Bags
Thank you so much for calling in to see me today I really appreciate it
Bye for now

"A Card & Exciting News"

Hello Blog friends, hope you have all had a good weekend
Thank you for taking time to come visit me and  for all your lovely comments.
Welcome to my latest follower, it is a "man" even bigger welcome.   John you are such a rare bread in the Crafting World, thank you for choosing to join my wee Blog.   Hope to see you commenting, good or bad I can take it all.
Saturday evening we went "Big Train Hunting" with the boys.  For any new or recent  followers this is a favourite pastime in this family.  Going to see Steam Engines that come on tours in Scotland.   We are lucky that most of them come through Perth on their way to Inverness.   Often they go up one day, the next day the come back down through Aberdeen to Dundee then over the Tay Bridge.  We then get two bites of the Cherry so to speak.   Mostly just John, John Jnr, Thomas and Robert.   Audrey and I do go now and again, we enjoy being together catching up with all the chat.
Today, Sunday is "Fathers Day" we had a BIG celebration lunch along at John & Audrey`s.    John Jnr has been awarded an OBE for his work with the Scottish Fire Service.  We are so proud of him.   John has been working very hard over the past few years, on centralising the Scottish Fire Service.   Lots of time away, last minute calls which meant him flying here there and everywhere.  Missing things he would have loved to have been at with the boys.  When he was offered the job we all knew it was a big commitment..  We sat down together discussing all the good and the bad points.  As a very small family unit, we have had to work together, now all his hard work has been rewarded.   Rewarded in a way that we never, ever dreamt of, we are so pleased for John.
Sorry for all the waffle but I am a rather proud and excited Mum:-

Today`s card is one I made a few weeks ago and sent to a special lady who was going through a rather traumatic time.  This lady is never far from my thoughts, I know exactly what she is going through.
When John had his accident, I got cards from so many unexpected sources.   I was very grateful that people were thinking about us.

Base card cut using SB Elegant Labels 4 in white card
Lilac card cut using the same Die, I hand cut out the centre piece, embossed that using a Sissix Rose Folder
Rose made from Scraps of Gingham paper from a Rob Adams Cd
Swirl/leaves cut using a Memory Box Die................
I have recently started buying these dies, I love how the card just pops out of them.  Just wish they did BIG frames, they have a few frames but not so big, hopefully that will come
Sentiment is Computer Generated.  I have a folder that I keep a note of nice sentiments and verses for future use.  Thought it was very appropriate for the occasion

That`s it for today
Thank you for popping in I really appreciate it
